STM32 processors are getting really hard to get (and expensive) so I thought it was about time to look into some of the alternatives.

GigaDevice make a series of processors GD32 which closely resemble the STM32 ones. Question is if they resemble them close enough so that you can still use binaries developed for the STM32F103. Secondary question would be if STM32CubeIde can be used for development/debugging. Now, it is important to stress here that ST have obviously put in an enormous effort to develop their development tools and they have done that to support selling their hardware.

Schematics design

The board is identical with the Green Pill board with the STM32F103 replaced with a GD32E103CB.
